All working people wait for Friday. No matter if you love your job or not, you are among them. Friday is the most expected day of a week for everyone.

We are people, we have our working projects, businesses, plans, but we all need some rest, some precious time to spend it with our dearest people and families, our kids, our friends and pets, to have some time to enjoy our hobbies. Work is very important, but this is not the whole life. And we all need just to live. But there is a one popular mistake we all used to make.

How was your Friday?

When you come home on Friday evening, what do you ask yourself? How to order pizza? Where is my TV remote? Which pub to choose for today's night? Only business owners and the most responsible employees ask themselves: how was my working Friday? Was it effective, prospective, productive?

Most of working people all over the world (in the countries with two free days – Saturday and Sunday) spend Friday ineffectively at all. They start to think about Friday's night in the morning, feel relaxing and spend their working time waiting for the end of this day. But this day is also a working one! And in the end we'll get only four productive days in a week, with the whole one day when no one is doing almost nothing. Sometimes this is also about business owners. How you can change the situation?

Ask and answer

Ok, if you are a boss, it is better to accept that fact – they don't want to work hard today. And if you will force them, it won't be good for your company atmosphere and teambuilding. What you can do? Plan your Friday in another way. Go to your employees. Talk to all of them or to some of them. For example, world-famous Facebook owner and inventor Mark Zuckerberg every Friday talks to his employees. In the morning he announces the ask-and-answer-day and answer to any question. Everyone can ask him, and he is a VERY big boss. Use this practice, it works!

Make it easy

In every company, every business, every type of personal entrepreneurship there are kinds of work which are not difficult, mostly technical or talking type, do not require serious efforts. If your time waits, try to move these kinds of work on your Friday's schedule. Your employees have to do something in any case, they (and you too!) are quite tired or even exhausted to this day, so let them do an easy and simple work today.

Create an Idea Day

Ideas can make your work better and your business more successful. Sometimes ideas are keys to your goals and success much more than difficult work with small results. No one likes to call, to print, to read or to count on Fridays. Try to make this day as an Idea Day. Let your employees discuss and offer any ideas for your business improvement, for your team building and other questions in your working field and around it. This shouldn't be a brainstorming limited in time – they should feel free to say anything, no right or wrong answers. You can collect ideas by emails or call a meeting if your company is not so big.

One-Day CEO

Offer your employees an interesting idea – continuing to talk about the Idea Day. Ask them to tell you how they will improve company's business and what steps will they make if they were CEO just for today. Let them tell anything or offer to make a plan with several steps. Discuss it in your team in correct way, sometimes these propositions are definitely good and progressive, even genius for your business. This exercise also will help you to see your employees' potential and prospective, to understand their attitude to the business and the company's work. Who knows, maybe there are your new vice-president among them?  

Make them move

It is good to spend your Friday p.m. for the group activity – no one really works at this part of the day. Go together to yoga class or gym, play football or any other kinds of group sports you like (not only you, but your employees too, it's good to ask them in advance). If you have a big corporate building or office with enough place and shower cabins, you can offer a fitness trainer or a yoga teacher to the office. Tell your people in advance to bring necessary accessories for workouts. You can make them move in another way – clean up your office. No, you shouldn't work  instead of a cleaning company, but sometimes there are lots of papers on the desks, 80% of them can be put in trash without any problem. Do it by yourself too.
